Forest School
The Forest schools concept originated in Scandinavia in the 1950s. It is an inspirational process that encourages learners to develop confidence and self-esteem through hands-on, outdoor learning experiences in a woodland, forest or natural environment. This learning environment helps children to explore the natural world by doing, developing their natural skills in problem-solving, social interaction, risk-taking in a safe environment, thinking and general wellbeing to last them a lifetime.
Research in the early year’s sector shows the positive impact that these types of schools have on young children’s development. Our Forest school activities are led by a Forest School Qualified staff with many years of experience working with children.
What are the benefits of Forest School?
Forest school is holistic learning through play and exploration, children learn about the environment, how to handle risks and use their initiative to solve problems and to co-operate with others.

Cognitive Development
Cognitive development in the first four years, which requires movement to wire the brain, sets us up to be active learners throughout our lives.
Cognitive development within the first four years of life sets us up to become active learners throughout our academic years and future life.
Cognitive development needs movement to wire the brain. This enables the child to completely learn their next stages of development.

Forest School Experiences Develop Self-Bg
Through regular sessions with natural materials, children learn to appreciate and responsibly engage with the woodland environment, enhancing their self-esteem, confidence, and development.
By investigating and exploring natural materials. Learning how to use them in a forest friendly way. Children gain an awareness of the woodland environment, as well as valuing and appreciating the natural world.
Our aim is - Through regular sessions for all age groups, every child will access learning and development within the natural world around them. Every child will succeed through inspirational, stimulating, hands on experiences, developing their self-esteem, confidence and responsibility.
